Jon Bowen is a cartographer at National Geographic where he works on building interactive maps and atlases. Through cartography, Jon has worked in the Galapagos islands at The Charles Darwin Research Center and has also led numerous whitewater rafting trips in the back country. Jon was also nominated as one of the 30Under30 creative leaders in the outdoor community.On this episode, we learn how Jon fell in love with cartography, how cartography can help people get involved with the outdoors, and a behind the scenes look at how maps and cartography shape our world.
